Say “Bonjour” to one of my new personal favourite fragrances, la Bleu De Chanel by Chanel!
First launched to the public back in 2010, and perfected by the amazing Jacques Polge, who is responsible for the creation of other prominent Chanel colognes like Coco Noir (2012) and the aromatic Allure Homme Sport (2004), this cologne is incredibly versatile for any occasion!
Described by Macy’s as a “woody, aromatic fragrance for the man who defies convention”, the fragrance starts off its top notes with a citrus-y kick, followed by a more intense combination of Grapefruit and Ginger, which is finally mellowed down with its smoother Sandalwood and Patchouli base.
Depending on how much you’re willing to give for a cologne of all things, I will admit the prices can come across as daunting, but it really all depends on where you do your shopping, to be honest. The Chanel website itself will house 1.7 Fl. Oz. for $75.00 (approx. 56 Quid) and then 3.4 FL. Oz. for $95.00 (approx. 71 Quid)., while Macy’s will respectively charge $90.00 and $115.00 for the former and latter amounts. Again, it all depends on where/when you buy a certain amount as well as if any additional promotions are taking place at the time.
But as I said earlier, this cologne is basically the Swiss Army knife of the Men’s Fragrance world and is incredibly versatile regardless of circumstance! Whether it be a chill movie night with your other half, a formal work event with your coworkers, or a pub night out with some pals, this marvelous little concoction is a sure-fire way to turn heads and noses plain and simple.
Just like any high-end Italian designer, when it comes to the subtler arts of fashion, the French know how to make their products, not only alluring (no pun intended), but timeless too! Heck, as I was doing my research through the internet for Men’s Fragrance by Chanel, I hadn’t a single clue that Allure Homme Sport had been around since 2002! Yet I only started donning the fragrance back in 2012 during the High School years back in Florida and 6 years later, no matter what continent I’m in, I still average in 2-3 complements a day from men & women of all ages whenever I don said fragrance.
Nonetheless, I wish all you avid Fragrance Warriors a great day, at that you show Chanel some love should you ever find yourself hovering over the fragrance section of an outlet!
Feels good to read reviews from someone who knows what he's talking about :) Nice article Colin!
